The outgoing year is both an end and a beginning. It is the end of a decade that Nigeria achieved very little in sports, and at the same time the beginning of a new decade full of possibilities and hope! When we look back at the past year we want to decide quickly whether it has been glorious or disappointing. My choice is that even when the things one aspires to have not materialised it is not because God was not listening to his people’s prayer but because he is preparing something better! So, the year 2010, even as stormy as it was, has been glorious!

My prayer this new year is that God shall take all the broken pieces of Nigerian sports and turn them into a wonderful mosaic.

We need a heart of flesh in our sport and not a heart of stone!
I wish all Nigerians a Happy and very Prosperous new Decade!
