French Ligue 1
OLYMPIQUE LYON v PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN.
Lyon need to come up with its A-game against big spenders PSG who will arrive in supreme confidence after its midweek victory over Real Madrid. Lyon’s early season form has fizzled with no victory in their last four matches in all competitions. However, Lyon has beaten PSG at home in the last three occasions and Les Gones have the quality to continue the trend.
VERDICT: 2 – 1 (Lyon to win)
Italian Serie A
AC MILAN v INTER MILAN.
Derby della Madonina sees two teams starting off new projects under new coaches. Inter has made a bright start with three wins while Milan has two. Who will win this local derby? Neither side has particularly dominated the derby over the years. Inter looks decent but its Champions League failure at home midweek has shown it soft side. This is likely to even out in a stalemate.
VERDICT: 1-1.
German Bundesliga
WERDER BREMEN v RB LEIPZIG.
Unbeaten RB Leipzig has a tricky game to navigate against a resurgent Bremen whose home record is very good. Leipzig’s start under Nagelsmann has been impressive; this game is another test for the Easterners. Bremen on the other side has a strong home record against Leipzig but the visitors are looking good at the moment. On the strength of both team’s performance, this looks like a draw.
VERDICT: 2-2
Spanish La Liga
SEVILLA v REAL MADRID.
Sevilla face a struggling Real Madrid in a top of table clash on Sunday evening. Real Madrid need a reaction after the defeat at PSG but they can expect no favors from Julen Lopetegui and Sevilla. Sevilla have got to be favorites at home having won their last three at home against Real Madrid.
VERDICT: 3-1 (Sevilla to win)
English Premiership League
CHELSEA v LIVERPOOL.
Two members of the Premier League top-six clash at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. The Blues have been scoring goals for fun and have conceded in equal measure. This is another tough test for Liverpool having failed to impress in Napoli. The Reds will likely drop points here though Chelsea are yet to win at home this season
