European league predictions – Week 10

French Ligue 1

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN v ANGERS.

PSG should have their attacking trio (Neymar, Cavani, Mbappe) available for the visit of Angers who sit second in the league following an impressive start to the season. If the attacking trident click, Angers will be in for a long afternoon.  PSG has won the last eight matches in all competitions against Angers.

VERDICT: 3 – 1 ( 3-1 PSG to win).

Italian Serie A

INTER MILAN v JUVENTUS.

Derby d’Italia is a massive test for Inter Milan whose impeccable start to the Serie A season has seen them win six out of six so far. Champions Juventus will be highly motivated for this derby and they warmed up nicely with a 3-0 win in the Champions League.  The fixture produces goals and on the strength of Inter performances so far, they should beat the champions in Milan.

VERDICT: 2-1 (Inter Milan to win)

German Bundesliga

BAYERN MUNICH v HOFFENHEIM.

Bayern Munich is on a scoring spree. You would imagine Hoffenheim needing to park a vessel to avoid an embarrassing scoreline at Allianz Arena. Hoffenheim don’t stand a chance against a free-scoring Bayern.

VERDICT: 4-1 (Bayern Munich to win).

Spanish La Liga

BARCELONA v SEVILLA.

An exciting clash at the Camp Nou is on the horizon with Barcelona starting to put wins together against a very drilled Sevilla team.  Sevilla will be motivated when they face the champions. Leo Messi is the x-factor and he will be expected to deliver on the night.

VERDICT: 3-1 (Barcelona to win)

English Premier League

LIVERPOOL v LEICESTER CITY.

Brendan Rodgers returns to his old club to face his successor.  Liverpool is unbeaten in 43 home league matches but will need to keep their concentration better against Leicester compared to the game against Salzburg.  Leicester took points off Liverpool at Anfield last season and have the ability to do so again but the Reds have enough quality to squeeze past the Foxes in a very close game.

VERDICT:  2-1 (Liverpool to win).
