European League Predictions – Week 20

Hello Mathematical7.com readers,

Most of the big European leagues are on winter break/Christmas holiday but the English Premier League has kept football fans entertained during this festive period.  We will look at three of the best.

English Premier League

Match 1: Arsenal v Chelsea

Synopsis: Inconsistent Chelsea makes a 10 mile trip within London to face city rivals Arsenal. The Blues have gone from beating Spurs to losing to Southampton. Arsenal has made a decent start to life under Mikel Arteta and will look to build on that performance in the derby. Both teams are not particularly in good form and aren’t convincing defensively. On that account, we are going for a score draw.

Verdict: 2-2

Match 2: Liverpool v Wolverhampton Wanderers

Synopsis: Fresh from winning the FIFA Club World Cup, Liverpool have returned to business in the Premier League with an emphatic display against Leicester City. Wolves will provide the Reds with another tough test. Wolves are solid and difficult to break down but Liverpool has shown resolute desire to conquer any obstacle put in front of them.

Verdict: 2-1 (Liverpool to win)

Match 3: Manchester City v Sheffield United

Synopsis: Sheffield United have surprised the everyone with their performances in the Premier League; the Blades are just three points off a Champions League spot but a trip to the home of the Champions is a different test entirely. With Liverpool relentless drive, Manchester City is left with no choice than to keep winning and hoping to put pressure on the leaders. This might be a tough one for City but we believe their quality should see them through.

Verdict: 2-1 (Man. City to win)
